A Representative from California. Born in Phoenix, Maricopa County, Ariz. , July 28, 1934. Educated in the Stockton public schools. Graduated from Stockton High School, 1952. A. A. , Stockton (Calif. ) College, 1954. B. S. , University of Utah, Salt Lake City, 1960. J. D. , Hastings College of Law, University of California, San Francisco, 1963. Admitted to the California bar in 1964 and commenced practice in Downey, Calif. Appointed to the San Joaquin County Board of Supervisors by Governor Reagan, 1974. Elected in 1974, and reelected in 1976. Elected as a Republican to the Ninety-sixth and to the five succeeding Congresses (January 3, 1979-January 3, 1991). Was not a candidate for renomination in 1990 to the One Hundred Second Congress. Member, California Public Utilities Commission, 1991-1995. Died on November 1, 2022, in Bountiful, Utah.
