Biography
A Representative from Oklahoma. Born in East Liberty near Stigler, Haskell County, Okla. , November 3, 1934. Graduated from Stigler High School, Stigler, Okla. Attended the University of Alabama, 1960-1961. B. A. , Northeastern Oklahoma State University, 1965. Served in the United States Air Force, 1955-1963. Pursued career as newspaper publisher. In 1965 became part owner and president of printing businesses in Tahlequah, Okla. Served as Oklahoma crime commissioner, second district, 1970-1974. Delegate, Democratic National Mid-term Convention, 1974. Elected as a Democrat to the Ninety-fourth and to the Ninety-fifth Congresses (January 3, 1975-January 3, 1979). Unsuccessful candidate for renomination in 1978 to the Ninety-sixth Congress. Died on September 10, 2006, in Claremore, Okla.
