Biography
A Representative from Texas. Born in Bug Tussle, Fannin County, Tex. , February 18, 1926. Attended the public schools. Baylor University, Waco, Tex. , 1953-1957. Served in the United States Army, 1944-1953, and attained the rank of captain. Professional meteorologist. Owned and operated a commercial flight service. Consultant in aviation and meteorology prior to coming to Congress. Delegate, Texas State Democratic convention, 1972. Elected as a Democrat to the Ninety-third, Ninety-fourth and Ninety-fifth Congresses (January 3, 1973-January 3, 1979). Unsuccessful candidate for renomination in 1978 to the Ninety-sixth Congress. Was a resident of Howe, Tex. Until his death there on December 26, 1997. Interment in Dial Cemetery, Honey Grove, Tex.
