A Representative from Louisiana. Born in Leesville, Vernon Parish, La. , March 30, 1934. Attended the public schools of Louisiana. B. S. , Louisiana State University, Baton Rouge, 1955. Served in the United States Army, 1956-1959. J. D. , Louisiana State University Law School, Baton Rouge, La. , 1963. Admitted to the Louisiana bar in 1964 and commenced practice in Leesville. Served in the Louisiana state house of representatives, 1967-1978. Elected as a Democrat to the Ninety-sixth Congress (January 3, 1979-January 3, 1981). Unsuccessful candidate for reelection in 1980 to the Ninety-seventh Congress. Member, Louisiana state house of representatives, 1984-1988. Unsuccessful candidate for Governor of Louisiana in 2003. Died on August 6, 2022, in Baton Rouge, La.
