B. , Colorado State College of Education, Greely, 1949. Vanderbilt College of Law, Nashville, Tenn. , 1949. J. D. , University of Florida College of Law, Gainesville, 1952. Certificate of graduation, College of State Trial Judges, Reno, Nev. , 1971. Admitted to the Florida bar in 1952 and commenced practice in Zephyrhills. Served in the United States Marine Corps, 1942-1946. City attorney, Zephyrhills, 1953. Senior assistant United States Attorney, southern district of Florida, 1956-1959. Circuit judge, sixth judicial circuit of Florida, 1960-1974. Elected as a Republican to the Ninety-fourth, Ninety-fifth and Ninety-sixth Congresses (January 3, 1975-January 3, 1981). Unsuccessful candidate for renomination in 1980 to the Ninety-seventh Congress. Convicted on January 26, 1981, of bribery, conspiracy, and racketeering. Sentenced to federal prison and received probation. Died on August 22, 2005, in Stevensville, Mont.
