Biography
A Representative from Pennsylvania. Born in Quarryville, Lancaster County, Pa. , December 4, 1920. Franklin and Marshall College, B. S. , 1942. Graduate work in political science at Temple University. Lieutenant, United States Coast Guard in the Second World War. Public school teacher. Member, Pennsylvania State house of representatives, 1954-1966. Elected as a Republican to the Ninetieth and to the four succeeding Congresses (January 3, 1967-January 3, 1977). Was not a candidate for reelection in 1976 to the Ninety-fifth Congress. Was a resident of Lancaster, Pa. , until his death there January 10, 1985. Interment in Millersville Mennonite Cemetery, Manor Township, Millersville, Pa.
