Elected as a Democrat to the Ninetieth and to the six succeeding Congresses (January 3, 1967-January 3, 1981). Unsuccessful candidate for reelection to the Ninety-seventh Congress in 1980. Died on November 13, 2001, in Austin, Tex. Interment at Austin Memorial Cemetery, Austin, Tex.
