Chairman, Eighth Congressional District Democratic Party of Wisconsin, 1969-1974. Member, State Administrative Committee of Democratic Party of Wisconsin, 1969-1974. Unsuccessful candidate for the United States House of Representatives in 1970 and 1972. Elected as a Democrat to the Ninety-fourth and Ninety-fifth Congresses (January 3, 1975-January 3, 1979). Unsuccessful candidate for reelection to the Ninety-sixth Congress in 1978. Died on May 10, 2009, in DePere, Wis. Interment at Saint Norbert Abbey Cemetery, De Pere, Wis.
