Elected as a Republican to the Eighty-fifth and to the eight succeeding Congresses (January 3, 1957-December 31, 1974). Was not a candidate for reelection to the Ninety-fourth Congress in 1974. Died on November 25, 2002, in Leesburg, Va. Interment in Evergreen Cemetery, Lansing, Mich.
