Jack Brinkley

A Representative from Georgia. Born in Faceville, Decatur County, Ga. , December 22, 1930. Attended the public schools of Faceville, Ga. Graduated from Young Harris College in 1949. Taught school, 1949-1951. Was a pilot in the United States Air Force, 1951-1956. Graduated from the University of Georgia School of Law in 1959. Was admitted to the bar and commenced practice in Columbus, Ga. , in 1959. Elected to the State house of representatives in 1965-1966. Elected as a Democrat to the Ninetieth and to the seven succeeding Congresses (January 3, 1967-January 3, 1983). Was not a candidate for reelection in 1982 to the Ninety-eighth Congress. Died on January 23, 2019, in Columbus, Ga. Interment at the Oswichee Baptist Church and Alexandria Methodist Church Cemetery, Fort Mitchell, Ala.
