Elected as a Democrat to the Eighty-fourth and to the twelve succeeding Congresses (January 3, 1955-January 3, 1981). Chairman, Select Committee on Energy (Ad Hoc) (Ninety-fifth Congress). Unsuccessful candidate for reelection to the Ninety-seventh Congress. Business owner. Professional advocate. Died on June 15, 2010, in Leland, Mich. Interment at Woodlawn Cemetery, Toledo, Ohio.
