Commends Ruby Bridges for her courage in becoming the first African-American student to attend William Frantz Elementary School in New Orleans, and for her lifetime commitment to promoting diversity and improving educational opportunities for all children.
Supports efforts to close student achievement gaps, improve secondary and postsecondary attendance and completion rates, and promote the benefits of integrated schools.
