Good Samaritan Volunteer Firefighter Assistance Act of 2001 - Provides that a person (including any other entity) who donates fire control or fire rescue equipment shall not be liable for personal injuries, property damage or loss, or death proximately caused by the equipment after the donation. Waives such liability protection if: (1) the person's or entity's act or omission proximately causing the injury, damage, loss, or death constitutes gross negligence or intentional misconduct; or (2) the person or entity is the manufacturer of such equipment.
Preempts State laws to the extent they are inconsistent with this Act, with the exception of those that provide additional protection from liability for a person who donates fire control or fire rescue equipment to a volunteer fire company.
