To establish the Silver Scholarship program to provide transferable educational awards to individuals 55 years of age and older who perform certain volunteer services.
Amends the National and Community Service Act of 1990 by establishing the Silver Scholarship program which provides $1,000 scholarships to individuals 55 years of age and older who perform certain volunteer services.
Directs The Chief Executive Officer to establish: (1) criteria and priorities for awarding both the scholarships and grants; and (2) the types of volunteer services that may receive credit toward a scholarship.
