Delaney-Levitow Act of 2001 - Directs the Secretary concerned to award a medal called the Crimson Cross to each individual who, while on active-duty as a member of the armed forces, suffered an injury or illness which required medical evacuation or hospitalization in connection with combatant activities during a period of war or as a result of hostile actions against the United States but who is ineligible to receive the Purple Heart as result of such injury or illness.
Makes this Act inapplicable to any individual who suffered the injury or illness as a result of willful misconduct.
Authorizes the issuance of the medal to the representative of an eligible individual who dies before receiving such medal.
