Summary

Amends the Medicare, Medicaid, and SCHIP Benefits Improvement and Protection Act of 2000 to permit a hospital to retain its Medicare provider status while continuing existing contracts with a public entity to provide inpatient psychiatric services if the health facility is operated or managed by a State or local government and assures access to mental health services for certain low-income individuals.
