Unemployment insurance coverage-period and reporting.
This bill would reduce the maximum amount of unemployment benefits for an eligible person to twenty weeks. The bill allows seasonal employees to receive not more than twenty-six weeks of unemployment benefits. The bill provides a definition of "eligible person attached to regular work" and also renames the Unemployment Insurance Commission to the Reemployment Insurance Commission. The bill provides an appropriation and is applicable to all unemployment claims filed on or after January 1, 2027.
