Summary

In 2025, the Legislature enacted a law that authorized the establishment of an oil-and-gas bonding pool where operators could voluntarily participate in the bonding pool to assist in providing financial assurance for the operator's projects. This bill would provide that the state treasurer must invest funds in the oil-and-gas bonding pool, with earnings being deposited in the Conservation Fund for use for the bonding pool.
