Title: Health Ed. SOL; Bd. of Ed. to require literacy instruction in grade 9 & 10 in next revision.
Certain economics education and financial literacy instruction and health education; instruction on health insurance and health care. Requires the Board of Education to include (i) in the objectives for middle and high school economics education and financial literacy instruction the basics of individual health insurance policies and navigating the Virginia Health Benefit Exchange and (ii) in the Standards of Learning for health education for grade nine and grade 10 health care literacy instruction for the purpose of helping students navigate the health care system efficiently and effectively that includes certain enumerated topics and content.
