Title: Medicaid; expedited review process for service authorization requests, report.
Department of Medical Assistance Services; expedited review process for Medicaid service authorization requests; report. Directs the Department of Medical Assistance Services to establish an expedited review process for Medicaid service authorization requests involving time-sensitive, life-sustaining treatment when a delay in authorization would pose a significant risk to the health and safety of an individual. Implementation of the expedited service authorization review process is conditional on the Department obtaining all necessary approvals and federal financial participation. The bill sunsets on July 1, 2027, if such approval and federal financial participation is not obtained. The bill requires the Department to report annually by November 1 on the implementation of the expedited service authorization review process.
