This bill requires, b y July 1, 2026, and by each July 1 thereafter, the department of education to provide a report to the chairs of the finance, ways, and means committees of the senate and house of representatives, the chairs of the education committees of the senate and house of representatives, and the directors of the office of legislative budget analysis to assist the general assembly in evaluating the availability of the I ndividualized education account (IEA) program . This bill requires the report to include the following information for the immediately preceding fiscal year: (i) t he number of e ligible students statewide , p articipating students , and s tudents the program had the capacity to serve; and (ii) t he process developed and implemented by the department to notify parents of their child's potential eligibility to participate in the program. The first report must include such information for each of the five immediately preceding fiscal years, as well as the total annual amount expended by the department for the program for each of the five immediately preceding years.
