AN ACT to amend Tennessee Code Annotated, Title 48, Chapter 64, relative to judicial dissolution of nonprofit corporations.
Present law states that the venue for a proceeding brought by the attorney general to dissolve a nonprofit corporation lies in Davidson County. This bill changes the venue requirements for such a proceeding by providing that the venue lies in any of the following: Any county where the corporation's principal office is located or, if the corporation does not have a principal office in this state, the corporation's registered office. Any place where the corporation has engaged in any activity, including soliciting donations. Any place where the attorney general has an office. Davidson County, Sumner County, or Williamson County.
