ON APRIL 16, 2025, THE HOUSE ADOPTED AMENDMENT #1 AND PASSED HOUSE BILL 1429, AS AMENDED. AMENDMENT #1 adds to this bill that: (1) The restrictions on elected positions established in this bill only apply to electable positions for offices within the City of New Johnsonville ; (2) This bill does not prohibit a n immediate relative of a state, county, city, municipal, federal, or other official from being considered for an elected position within the City of New Johnsonville ; and (3) This bill does not remove any incumbent from office or abridge the term of any incumbent prior to the end of the term for which such elected official was selected .
