ON FEBRUARY 9, 2026, THE HOUSE ADOPTED AMENDMENT #1 AND ADOPTED HOUSE JOINT RESOLUTION 180, AS AMENDED. AMENDMENT #1 revises the preamble and expands the resolving provisions to do as follows: (1) Urge the federal government to streamline the legal immigration process by eliminating unnecessary delays, reducing bureaucratic obstacles, and lowering excessive fees for lawful applicants, while maintaining rigorous security standards; and (2) Call upon the President of the United States and Congress to enact immigration reforms that reinforce the rule of law, protect American workers and taxpayers, and prioritize the safety, security, and economic interests of the United States and its c itizens.
