Summary

AN ACT TO AMEND SECTION 43-13-145, MISSISSIPPI CODE OF 1972, TO PROVIDE THAT THE DIVISION MAY EXEMPT MEDICARE-CERTIFIED LONG-TERM ACUTE CARE HOSPITALS FROM THE HOSPITAL ASSESSMENT USED FOR FUNDING THE MEDICAID PROGRAM IF SUCH EXEMPTION IS APPROVED BY THE CENTERS FOR MEDICARE AND MEDICAID SERVICES (CMS) AND DOES NOT RESULT IN THE STATE RECEIVING A LOWER FEDERAL FINANCIAL PARTICIPATION RATE FOR ANY AUTHORIZED SUPPLEMENTAL PAYMENT PROGRAM; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.
