Summary

AN ACT concerning the secretary of corrections; relating to the prison-made goods act of Kansas; permitting certain contracts for the production of manufactured or modular homes for a pilot program at the Hutchinson correctional facility; requiring that the secretary charge average rates for rent and wages and require the private individual, corporation, partnership or association to pay all costs related to the project for such contracts; providing for a nationally recognized construction education certification program for participants of such pilot program; providing for an annual report by the secretary of corrections; amending K.S.A. 75-5275a and repealing the existing section.
