Colorado House bill in Session 2026.
Status: enrolled. Latest action: April 30, 2026.
Interlock Device for Impaired Drivers.
The waiting period to apply for an interlock-restricted license following a conviction related to driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol is eliminated. A person convicted for the first time of certain offenses related to driving while under the influence of drugs or alcohol is required to hold an interlock-restricted license for the period of revocation of the person's driver's license. Financial assistance related to the interlock device is available depending on the person's financial status. A certified ignition interlock manufacturer must provide a person who is eligible for the assistance program certain discounts on installation of, lease charges for, and removal of an interlock device. The bill makes an appropriation. (Note: Italicized words indicate new material added to the original summary; dashes through words indicate deletions from the original summary.) (Note: This summary applies to the reengrossed version of this bill as introduced in the second house.)
