Title: Transit-oriented housing developments: exceptions: housing development policy.

Summary

Existing law requires a housing development project to be an allowed use as a transit-oriented housing development if certain requirements are met. Existing law provides that these provisions do not apply to a local agency until July 1, 2026, unless the local agency takes specified actions. Existing law defines various terms for these purposes. This bill would additionally exempt from the above-described provisions certain local agencies or local governments if the entity has adopted a policy by January 1, 2026, to complete at least 10,000 housing units, at least 50% of which will be income restricted, by January 1, 2032, except as specified.
