California - Session 2025-2026
Title: Housing: disaster impacted areas.
Existing law establishes the Department of Housing and Community Development and requires it to administer various programs intended to promote the development of housing, including the Multifamily Housing Program. Existing law, the Planning and Zoning Law, requires a city or county to adopt a general plan for the land use and development of the county or city that includes, among other things, a housing element. Existing law requires the housing element to consist of an identification and analysis of existing and projected housing needs and a statement of goals, policies, quantified objectives, financial resources, and scheduled programs for the preservation, improvement, and development of housing. This bill would state the intent of the Legislature to enact legislation relating to housing in disaster impacted areas.
