Elected as a Republican to the One Hundred Fifth Congress and One Hundred Sixth Congresses (January 3, 1997-January 3, 2001). Was not a candidate for reelection to the One Hundred Seventh Congress in 2000. Unsuccessful candidate for Governor of Montana in 2012. Is a resident of Helena, Mont.
