Business executive. Member of the Montana state senate, 2009-2012. Unsuccessful candidate for nomination for lieutenant governor of Montana in 2012. Elected as a Republican to the One Hundred Fourteenth and to the succeeding Congress until his resignation on March 1, 2017 (January 3, 2015-March 1, 2017). Secretary of the Interior in the Cabinet of President Donald J. Trump, 2017-2018. Elected as a Republican to the One Hundred Eighteenth and to the succeeding Congress (January 3, 2023-present).
