Elected as a Republican to the Ninety-fourth Congress, by special election to fill the vacancy created by the resignation of United States Representative Robert R. Casey (April 3, 1976-January 3, 1977). Unsuccessful candidate for reelection to the Ninety-fifth Congress in 1976.
