Member of the California state assembly, 1994-1998. Elected as a Republican to the One Hundred Sixth Congress (January 3, 1999-January 3, 2001). Unsuccessful candidate for reelection to the One Hundred Seventh Congress in 2000. Unsuccessful candidate for nomination to the One Hundred Thirteenth Congress in 2012. Died on January 22, 2021, in Long Beach, Calif.
