Overview:
LegiList respects your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices regarding your data.
No Account Required:
LegiList does not require user accounts or logins. You can use the site fully without providing any personal credentials.
Address Lookup:
When you enter your address to view your elected officials, that information is sent directly to the
Google Civic Information API.
LegiList does not store, log, or retain the address you enter. Only the result — your representatives' names and IDs — is saved in your browser’s local storage to personalize your dashboard. This data remains on your device and can be cleared at any time through your browser settings.
Pinned Items:
When you pin bills or legislators, those preferences are stored locally in your browser using localStorage. No pinned data is sent to LegiList servers.
Analytics:
LegiList uses Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site. Google Analytics may use cookies and collect anonymized usage data (such as pages visited, device type, and general location) to help us improve the site. You can opt out by using
Google’s browser add-on.
Advertising:
LegiList may display ads via the Google AdSense program. AdSense uses cookies to serve ads based on your interests and browsing history. You can manage or opt out of personalized ads through your
Google ad settings.
Cookies:
Aside from Google Analytics and AdSense, LegiList does not use cookies, sessions, or persistent identifiers. No user tracking is done by LegiList itself.
Third-Party Links:
This site may link to external government sources and APIs. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those websites.
Changes to This Policy:
We may update this Privacy Policy as new features are added or as regulations evolve. Any changes will be posted here with an updated effective date.
